Principal Pānui - Week 8 2023

Chris Smith / Marie Bianco —

Tēnā Koutou Katoa,

Thanks to you all for the support shown towards the strike action taken last week. Teachers and Principals do not want to be away from the chalk face however the level of frustration and lack of support for education has led to this current industrial action.

Can I ask that children be at school prior to our first bell at 8.50 am.  The before school period is a time for social interaction, preparation for the day ahead, and a time that children may connect with staff outside of the normal discussions that may go on in the structured classroom time.

A reminder that key dates are on our website as a banner and this links directly to our community google calendar.   There is a lot of great stuff happening for our tamariki, so to ensure you are well informed please read our weekly Panui and check out our website.

It was a treat to spend most of yesterday with our Assistant Principals and Team Leaders in a full day session based around professional growth cycles for teachers.   The professionalism and want to improve our practice was evident during the discussions with our facilitator and peers.  Today I am at our Ministry of Education Offices completing an introductory course around PC4L (Positive Culture 4 Learning).

If I can be of assistance please do make contact.

Ngā mihi nui
