We urgently need more parent coaches and students to enable us to participate in the Term 4 summer sports program. Big thanks to the coaches who have offered their time so far, we do however need more for some teams to be able to compete.

Year 4 Beach Education

Monday 4th December - South Brighton Surf Club

Planning is underway for this exciting activity for our Year 4 students which is scheduled for Monday 4th December.

NB. this is a change of date from what was previously advertised in the Panui

More information will be sent out early next Term by class teachers but in the meantime "Save The Date" as parent/caregiver volunteers will be needed for this event to proceed.

Parents and teachers are expected to participate in both water and beach activities.  The programme requires a minimum of 1 adult to every 5 students throughout the day.  It is essential that parents and teachers bring their togs (wetsuits optional) and are prepared to be in the water up to their waists.

A parent contribution of $26 is requested to cover the cost of bus transport to/from South Brighton Surf Club and trained lifeguards providing a full day of beach education.    If paying online please use the reference "Beach Ed" to assist with reconciliation, remember to include your child's name and current Room No.

Payment plans can be set up by contacting the School Office via email office@cotswold.school.nz or coming in to the School Office between 8.30 - 3.15pm.

This request for contribution has been added to your child's Hero Account and the parent contribution is requested by 17th November.  We have applied for grant funding to assist with this cost.   If successful this cost may be reduced and a credit added to your Hero account.

Year 2-6 Swim Safe Program

Monday 6th November to 15th November (8 days) at Jellie Park

Students in Year 2-6 travel to and from Jellie Park by bus with the class between 6th and 15th November.   They will participate in 8 lessons with a trained instructor from the Christchurch City Council Swim Safe Program.

Children will take part in a 25 minute group swimming session each day.  Lessons will be held between 9.30am - 2.30pm.  The first group will depart from school at approximately 9.00am and all groups should be back at Cotswold Mātāhae School by approximately 3.00pm.

A request for contribution will be added to your child's Hero Account this week and we are asking parents for a $48 contribution towards the cost of the Swim Safe Program.

This cost covers 8 swimming lessons with a trained instructor from the Christchurch City Council Swim Safe Program, and bus transport to and from Jellie Park.  We feel this is extremely good value for 8 days of swimming lessons.

This request for contribution for $45 has been added to your child's Hero Account.  The parent contribution is requested by 27th October.  We have applied for grant funding to reduce the cost of this activity.   If successful this cost may be reduced and a credit added to your Hero account.

If paying online please use the reference "Swim Safe" to assist with reconciliation, remember to include your child's name and current Room No.

Payment plans can be set up by contacting the School Office via email office@cotswold.school.nz or coming in to the School Office between 8.30 - 3.15pm.

The Board reviews all EOTC activities each year and the level of parent contribution is a factor in us determining if we can continue to offer some of the activities we have offered in previous years. We appreciate your ongoing support of our school EOTC Programs.

Thank you for your continued support of this valuable EOTC program.

More information will come out via class teachers early next Term.

In the meantime "save the date" as parent helpers will be required by each class to accompany them on the bus and to provide supervision at the pool each day.
