Tēnā Koutou Katoa,
Firstly thank you for getting behind Pink Shirt Day last Friday. Cotswold Mātāhae raised an incredible $483.80 for the Mental Health Foundation. This day enables all of New Zealand to celebrate diversity, spreads aroha and aims to end bullying in Aotearoa.
I am pleased to announce that we have appointed Amy Lineton as the teacher for our next Roll Growth Class in Room 2 which will be commencing on Tuesday 4th June.
Miss Lineton may be familiar to many families as she was previously employed at Cotswold Mātāhae as a Beginning Teacher before travelling overseas during Term 3-4 last year. We are excited to have Amy return to Cotswold and bring back her overseas experience to continue her teaching journey here at Cotswold Mātāhae.
As we settle into the winter period I wanted to communicate with you all around supporting the tamariki and staff at Cotswold Mātāhae. It was fabulous to see the whanau support offered to all students during the recent Junior and Senior Cross Country events.
Effective communication is key to nurturing the collaborative spirit that I believe exists amongst our school community.
When communicating with staff, particularly electronically, please be mindful of the tone in which your message is written. In my experience it is better to make an appointment with a staff member and discuss the issue face to face.
While our staff strive to respond to emails promptly, please be mindful that they have numerous responsibilities throughout the school day and after hours with their own whanau. Allow reasonable time for a response to be received. All of our teachers and support staff are committed to the well-being and success of our students. Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.
Just a reminder we will be holding our first Ministry of Education allocated Staff Only Day for the year on Friday 31st May and school will be closed on this day. We hope your whanau can enjoy an extended Kings Birthday long weekend.
We will be utilising this day for our staff to undertake the 'Pause Breathe Smile' professional development programme. Click on this link to find out more about Pause Breathe Smile.
Kelly Club will be offering a special Staff Only Day programme for Cotswold students. Click on the link for the booking form
