Principal Pānui - Week 8 - Term 4 2023

Tēnā Koutou Katoa,

Lots happening so keep up to date with end of year activities and events in the Pānui, Hero App and Seesaw.

Not being able to be in two places at once let me down this week.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching our athletes compete at the Canterbury Athletics on Wednesday morning but unfortunately this meant I was unable to see the efforts of our spud growers at or elcome our new entrants who attended their first school visits.

Well done to everyone who has played a part in making the numerous events held over the past fortnight a success and an advanced thank you for your efforts around supporting us with a resounding end to the 2023 school year.

Canterbury Athletics Championships

Congratulations to the 15 athletes who competed at the Canterbury Athletics Championships yesterday.

Well done to our Year 5 and Year 6 Boys Relays who finished 2nd in their Finals. I was proud to watch your efforts on the track. Well done to Coach Harper for his training with the squad.

Tōtaranui Kāhui Ako Cultural Festival

It was a treat for me to witness the Kahui Ako Cultural Festival last Thursday.  Giving children the opportunity to perform to an audience, celebrating culture and watching other schools from within our Kahui Ako was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. Thank you to whanau for supporting our Kapa Haka and Pasifika groups at their performance.

Both groups performed well on stage representing our Kura. It is always wonderful seeing our students proudly representing their own cultures as well as those of others.  We would also like to thank our amazing tutors for working alongside the children this year and our Parents Association for helping with the new uniforms.
