Covid Update 30 March

As many of you will be aware, the government has announced major changes to the Covid Protection Framework (CPF) which came into effect at 11:59 p.m on the 25th of March.

The aim of changes made to My Vaccine Passport requirements and other vaccine mandates was to make life simpler and closer to normal for all. To read more about the changes to the CPF you can click on the following link: Covid -19 Protection Framework.

So what do these changes mean for Crawshaw School?

We recognise and acknowledge that the changes to the CPF may be challenging and unsettling for many and want to reassure you that our primary focus will remain on maintaining the wellbeing, health and safety of students, staff, whanau and members of the wider community. You can be assured that:

  • We will remain vigilant in ensuring a high level of daily classrooms cleaning, hand sanitisation and providing medical-grade masks (Years 4 - 8)

  • All visitors to the school with the exception of those with a mask exemption will be expected to wear one in any indoor setting

  • For now students and staff will remain in their classroom bubbles to minimise the spread of Omicron

  • As drinking fountains are not in use, students will have access to individually named water bottles which can be brought from home or are provide by the school

  • We will continue to maintain & monitor our student and staff Covid -19 related isolation recording systems and provide learning from home packs when requested for students in isolation

The staff of Crawshaw School welcome whanau voice and ask that you inform us of any concerns or questions you may have regarding the changes to the CPF and the wellbeing of your children. You can email the school directly at office@crawshaw.school.nz or via Facebook.

The changes to the CPF does provide a glimmer of hope in that our school gates will be open to whanau and the wider community sooner than we expected. We look forward to when we can hold a Crawshaw whanau event and have face to face conversations with you.

Thank you for your ongoing support, patience and understanding of our school’s response to Covid - 19. I would like to personally thank the staff of Crawshaw and relieving teachers for the ways in which they have pulled together as a team to ensure our school has stayed open for our students
