‘Update from the IBD Nurses’.

Marian O’Connor - Chair NZIBDNG & Crohn’s & Colitis CNS – Taranaki - June 19, 2023

We are delighted to welcome two new committee members to the New Zealand IBD Nurses Group, Donna Howe from Whangarei as Secretary and Nideen Visesio from Auckland as our Education Lead.

Donna and Nideen will be joining me as Chairperson, Kirsten Arnold as Vice Chair, and former Education Lead Carly Bramley.

We are very grateful to Jacqui Stone, our previous Chairperson, and Karen Murdoch, who will be stepping down as Secretary. Both have contributed countless hours of hard work and strong leadership.

As a committee, we are currently working on our annual IBD Nurse Education Day which is planned for the 24th of August in Hamilton. We are looking forward to bringing IBD Nurses together from across the country for education and learning. We are grateful to Pharmaco for their support of this education event.

Finally, we are continuing our work on our Call to Action campaign, highlighting the low number of IBD Nursing positions across the country and will be discussing this further at our Nurse Education Day in August.

Written on behalf of the NZIBDNG Committee
