Belinda Brown our new Operations Manager

Dr. Richard Stein, Chair —

Belinda Brown wears many hats:

Mother, Wife, Camp Purple Organiser, Camp Purple Mum, former CCNZ Trustee, Crohn’s patient, friend to all, and, now, Operations Manager for Crohn’s and Colitis NZ.

I first met Belinda five years ago at the first Camp Purple Live in Auckland. It was clear at that time that she was someone special. She had already made a substantial contribution to CCNZ through her fundraising efforts at Auckland Round the Bays and was a standout leader with the children. It is impossible to spend time with Belinda without being drawn in by her enthusiasm, warmth, energy, intelligence, empathy, and drive. In 2015 she was asked to join the CCNZ Board and became a leader on the Camp Purple Live Committee.

Last year, when it became clear CCNZ needed an Operations Manager, Belinda was the obvious choice. With years of managerial experience she assumed the role in mid October and already has had a massive impact on our fundraising efforts, outreach to the support groups, and special projects. Belinda is charged with developing and maintaining strategic partnerships, identifying funding opportunities, and assuming all the administrative responsibilities for the organisation. She now manages our website, all professional correspondence, our social media pages, as well as this newsletter. She will continue to play a leading role with Camp Purple and is already planning our first young adult retreat.

Most importantly, in her new role Belinda is now the “face of CCNZ” and we could not ask for a more qualified person.

Belinda can be contacted directly at b.brown@crohnsandcolitis.org.nz. You can read about her journey with IBD on CCNZ’s website: https://crohnsandcolitis.org.nz/Belinda's%20Story
