Another representative for CCNZ and Camp Purple, Professor Andrew Day recognised as a Kiwibank Local Hero Medallist.

Professor Andrew Day is a paediatric gastroenterologist making an impact on the lives of children across the country living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. 

He not only provides crucial medical care, but has also been instrumental in the growth and success of Camp Purple Live. As Camp Director and Chair of the Camp Committee, Camp Purple has flourished under his leadership and has received international recognition.

In addition to his work with Camp Purple Live, Professor Day serves on the Board of Crohn’s and Colitis New Zealand Charitable Trust (CCNZ) and is the Cure Kids Chair of Paediatric Research at the University of Otago, Christchurch. 

Adding to his long list of accomplishments, Professor Day was just elected by his colleagues as the incoming President of the New Zealand Society of Gastroenterology.

Congratulations to Professor Andrew Day. His commitment to improving the lives of children and teens with IBD is truly remarkable. The Local Hero Award is well-deserved.
