Reflecting on World IBD Day 2024
On July 22, 2024, we gathered in the Grand Hall at Parliament House, Wellington, to celebrate World IBD Day and to shine a light on the many challenges facing individuals with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) while travelling.
The evening was a mix of stories, camaraderie, and inspiration. Our special guest speaker, Josh Bardell, captivated everyone with his tale of racing a rickshaw across India alongside two fellow IBD warriors, Sean and Emily.
Hosted by Hon Chris Bishop, the night was a blend of engaging conversations, delicious canapés, and refreshing drinks. We delved into the unique struggles of traveling with IBD, from accessing medications to handling emergencies and even locating toilet facilities in a pinch.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and made the evening so special, and a heartfelt shoutout to Takeda NZ for their generous sponsorship. Your support helps us continue to make a difference.
