Welcome aboard Claire Weatherford.

Claire Weatherford, Camp Purple Live Committee member —

We have a new Camp Committee Member, Claire. Want to know a little more about her?

Claire is an American born Pākehā, and lives in Ōtautahi with her husband, two teenage daughters, two cats and their new puppy. Claire is an Intern Child and Family Psychologist and loves working in the community with whānau. In her free time, Claire enjoys going on walks in nature, eating good food and connecting with friends.

After a long battle with sickness, Claire’s oldest daughter, Imagine, was finally diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2017. Since then, Imagine has attended Camp Purple four times, and hopes to be carry on as a Camp Leader.

Claire and her family are so grateful to CCNZ and the Camp Purple Community for providing a sense of belonging and lots of fun events.

Claire said that it is her privilege to be a part of the Camp Purple Committee and welcome new families into the IBD community.

Claire replaces Colleen Flemmer, who has sat on our committee and specifically helped with organising the Parent's seminar. We would like to thank Colleen for all her hard work over the past few years.
