Success at the Secondary School Regatta
23 Cromwell College students went down to lake Ruataniwha Twizel, to compete at the South Island secondary school rowing championship.
It was a great long weekend of rowing and cheering on others. The club trained hard for the whole season leading up to this competition. We had 21 rowers making it into finals. There were some great results. Tori got 2nd in her B final for the U16 single, Olivia placed 1st in her B final for the U18 single, in the U17 double Kaylee and Hannah got 8th in their A final, Olivia and Greer in their U18 double placed 5th in the A final, and lastly, there was the U15 octi made up of Alyssa, Ayala, Sophie, Brooke, Meila, Hannah, Lizzie, and Indie who got 3rd in their A final bringing home their second bronze medal for this season. All the rowers did amazing, putting their full effort into this competition. On the 25th of March 18 of these rowers will be heading up to the north island to compete in the Maadi cup. We wish them all the best in this competition.
