Dan McKellar - Sports Coordinator
I come to Cromwell College with a background predominantly in football.
am originally from Wellington and grew up participating in as much as I could including Badminton, BMX, Cricket, Cross Country, Futsal, Golf, Mountain Biking and Touch to name a few. Fast forward beyond school, I began finding value in the coaching, organising, and officiating of sports in volunteer roles to boost my involvement and enhance my learning in the different disciplines.
My recent highlights in the sporting/activity world include:
Coaching youth football in Dunedin for 3 years;
Refereeing all age grades at local & national level for football & futsal;
Organising chess competitions nationally;
Supporting an international non-profit organisation in Canada to provide sporting equipment to children in need.
Most of my fond memories are the opportunities that I have had, and continue to have in the world of sport. I enjoy learning new things, challenging myself and teaching in the pursuit of both personal and collective achievement.
I look forward to seeing what sport offers in Central Otago, and I am excited for the opportunity to support participation and success for the students of Cromwell College.
