Year 7 EOTC Week

In Week 6 of Term 1, our Year 7 students took part in their week-long EOTC experience, making the most of our incredible local environment.

Over five days, students participated in a range of outdoor activities that encouraged adventure, teamwork, and personal growth, all while building strong connections with each other and their surroundings.

McNulty Inlet, and our Watersports Centre, served as our base for the week, providing the perfect setting for an exciting lineup of water and land-based challenges. Students took part in kayaking, paddleboarding, and tubing down the Kawarau River, as well as sailing, biking and walking. The large sailboat experience was a highlight for many. Each activity pushed students to develop new skills, step outside their comfort zones, and support one another.

Thursday brought a thrilling change of pace with the Amazing Race. Teams of 5–6 students competed in a series of challenges, showcasing outstanding teamwork and problem-solving skills. A huge thank you to the Year 10 helpers who came along to support this activity.

Friday’s grand finale took students to Lake Hayes for a scenic walk before heading to the Queenstown pool. An afternoon of swimming and hydrosliding was the perfect way to celebrate a week of effort, learning, and fun.

We are so grateful for the help of our teachers, instructors, and amazing parent helpers; as well as the enthusiastic and respectful bunch of Year 7s that made this week a real pleasure for those involved.
