Camp Waihola
A poem by Lucas S (Room 15)
Come with me to Year 6 camp
And I will show you our adventures
On first arrival I saw football goals
I was excited
Looking around we were surrounded by an assault course
A zipline darting through the woods
Cabins ready to be invaded
We escaped camp and saw crashing waves
Baby seals and penguins floating on the Dunedin Harbour
Albatrosses flying through the air, swooshing as they went.
We finally got back to camp we got to have diner.
Playing spot light, and finally to bed
The next day, breakfast, then bus and off to Moana pool
We zoomed down the hydroslide in rapid waves
At the museum we got to play some games
And a night work through the animal attic with the lights turned off.
It was pitch black
To sleep, we got some matresses and found some spots to sleep.
Tired we quickly went to sleep
In the morning we got to go and see something beautiful
Butterflies flew around us like they were divebombing us
Occasionally landed on my arm.
Exhausted camp ended, we returned home
Our adventure was over but we had made great memories
