A Late Start Treat to Conclude Term 2

Matthew McCormick —

And just like that Term 2 is done!

And just like that Term 2 is done! To conclude the end of term 2, Tāwhirimātea, the atua of the weather gods has treated us to a scattering of snow which has lead to a 10am start.

This term has been an incredibly busy one with too many highlights to count. Personal highlights for me would have to include the Matariki celebration evening that took place in week 8. It was absolutely incredible to see such a huge turn out of our community and this really warmed our hearts. We look forward to planning our next event.

Another is the recent success of the Snow Farm experience that the year 3 and 4's took part in this week. A massive shout out to Shona and the Kārearea team for organising this event. The hours of planning and preparation was all worth it!

As we approach this mid year break please look after yourselves and your whānau. COVID is continuing to cause families grief and throwing the influenza into the mix has not helped in the slightest. I hope this break serves as a circuit breaker and fingers crossed that we can enjoy the same freedoms that we have been able to enjoy throughout term 2.

We have a hugely exciting term 3 coming up. We look forward to the year 6 camp going ahead, Literacy week in week 4, we are very excited to see the new hub build begin and we also look forward to the new hall opening around the middle of the term. Keep an eye out for details on these and more events in upcoming newsletters.

Enjoy your upcoming break and take care.
