EnviroSchool Lakeside Tree Planting - Ako

Lucy Francke —

The Ako team contributed to the environment on Thursday when all the Year 5 and 6 students were involved in planting native trees on the lakeside between the bridge and McNulty Inlet.

What a fabulous opportunity for our senior students to contribute to improvements surrounding Lake Dunstan.  We had so much fun and everyone learned how to plant a tree.

The planting was organised by Megan Phillips of the Lake Dunstan Charitable Trust. Plants propagated from eco sourced seeds by Haehaeata Natural Heritage Trust at the Clyde Railhead Community Nursery. A huge thank the Cromwell Lions Club for their help in preparing the site and helping on the day and our wonderful parent and community helpers.

Keep an eye on "The News" next week to check out what we were up to!
