Kapa Haka Picnic in the Park
Te Kahui Ako O Ngā Awaunui is hosting a Kapa Haka Picnic in the Park
Te Kahui Ako O Ngā Awaunui is hosting a Kapa Haka Picnic in the Park—a genuine community celebration you won't want to miss.
Join us on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson Park.
Come together for connection, celebration, and incredible Kapa Haka performances from all of our local schools and early learning centres. It's a great chance for the whole family to enjoy our community spirit!
Best of all, we're serving a free sausage sizzle for everyone!
Your hosts for the evening will be Mason Stretch and Hadley Farquharson.
This event is a collaborative effort by our local centres and schools, including Barnardos, BestStart, Celci, Willows, Kidsfirst, Molyneux Educare, Little Wonders, Cromwell College, Goldfields Primary and Cromwell Primary.
See you there for a relaxed evening of community, culture and kapa haka!
Haka Tautoko Practice
We encourage all whānau to practice our combined centres' waiata (song) Kopuwai and Haka Tautoko Tahu Pōtiki!
Your participation will make the event even more special. The kupu (words) will be provided on the day.
To help everyone prepare, we are holding a parent practice:
What: Parent Practice for Haka tautoko
