CPS students have been busy participating in a number of different sporting activities over the last few weeks.

Visiting Sports Specialists

We have had Thomas from Football South running football skill sessions with our students on Tuesdays. Thomas will be taking more sessions over the next few weeks.

Sam Bastin, the Otago Country Cricket Development Officer, has been coming into school on a Friday break two to run fun cricket games with our students. Sam will continue to do this for the rest of the term.

Athletics

The Karearea team had a very successful athletics day last Tuesday. A BIG THANK YOU to the Karearea staff for their organisation and running of this event.  Please see the separate article in this newsletter for results and more photos.

Ako will be running their Athletics Day on Wednesday 30 April under Red Level restrictions. Unfortunately, this will be a spectator free event.

Swimming 

Ako completed a busy week of swim safe sessions last week with the Swim School instructors at the Cromwell Pool. After a number of different swim skills were taught and practised throughout the week students built on their confidence and skills to stay safe in the water.
