Triathlons
We have had a large number of students competing in both the Dunstan Zone and Central Otago Triathlons recently
Dunstan Zone Triathlon, Cromwell
The Dunstan Zone Triathlon got off to a cracking start on Wednesday 15 November. The weather was perfect, nerves abounded but the energy levels were high.
Our individual competitors faced the huge challenge of completing all 3 disciplines on their own. The run was 1.5km, the cycle 4.5km, followed by 4 lengths of the Cromwell Pool. Our students showed incredible perseverance, proving they can achieve whatever they set their minds to.
Congratulations to the following students -
Milly L - 1st Y5 Girls Individual
Jack C - 2nd Y6 Boys Individual
Harry S - 3rd Y6 Boys Individual
After the individuals, our teams waited expectantly for their chance to race. Many students had been putting in extra time at the pool or on their bikes to get their fitness up to the competition level. Our teams worked well together, encouraging and supporting each other. Their preparation paid off with some outstanding overall results.
