Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2022
With Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori just around the corner, below are some ways you can celebrate this special occasion at home.
Next week marks the beginning of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, or Māori Language Week. This is an important week for Aotearoa, New Zealand as all schools continue to make a commitment to improving the use of te reo Māori across the NZ schooling system.
At CPS, we will be celebrating Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori in a number of different ways, and you can too! Attached (here) is a website with a number of resources and ideas that you can use at home to celebrate this week.
Attached are two posters with the lyrics to our Mōteatea (chant) and Haka. These are taonga (treasured items), belonging to the school which all children and staff learn. We encourage children to practice this at home and perhaps you could learn it too!
