SOK's Skiing with Cardrona Alpine Resort
Registrations are open now! Last day to register is 20 July so get in early.
Can you believe another year has rolled around and our children are already talking about time on the mountain???
Cardrona Alpine Resort have offered us a five day programme, where Cromwell Primary School children are given the opportunity to participate in lessons for greatly reduced prices, whilst a parent/ caregiver can take advantage of a discounted pass for the day also.
Cardrona has taken everything online this year, in a bid to make the enrolments for the programme as easy as possible for everyone using the link - 2022 SOK's Cardrona Ski Programme. Please ensure you read, and complete, the form carefully.
IF YOU DO NOT GET ASKED FOR PAYMENT AT TIME OF BOOKING:
STEP 1) CONTACT CARDRONA;
STEP 2) STILL NO RESPONSE, LET ME KNOW SO I CAN FOLOW UP THAT YOU ARE ON LIST (sharonm@cromprimary.school.nz)
The dates this year are running through August, with Wednesday 10th being our starting week, followed by Wednesday 17th, 24th, 31st and Sept 7th being our designated days. Dates and times are ALL specified on Cardrona’s Cromwell Primary school preview page. This page is specific to our school only.
Before we know it, these dates will have arrived, so start looking out all that ski/board gear to make sure it fits so you can hit the slopes at pace. Happy sliding!!!
POINTS TO REMEMBER
- Responsibility to get the children up to Cardrona for the programme is with the parent/ caregiver. SOK’s do not have transport sorry! Cardrona will be running their shuttles but please remember these are open to EVERYONE using the mountain.
- Children must be picked up and supervised for lunch time.
- Programme is provided by Cardrona so they have discretion on whether mountain opens or closes, depending on weather; CHECK Cadorna’s page for weather/opening updates on programme days before leaving home.
- A reduced price lift pass is available for only one person accompanying the child to the mountain.
- There are no reduced price lessons for parents as instructors will be concentrating on providing for the school group and Cardrona’s own lessons;
PLEASE consider carefully your child’s level of
skiing/boarding ability when choosing their class. The lessons are for having fun, building
confidence and improving existing skills. It’s NO FUN for your child to find
themselves, on day one, staring down a slope they don’t yet have the ability
and skills to handle.
