Planting Day Richards Beach Sat 28th Sept
We are back to Mokihi's roots for this Saturday's planting: south end Richards Beach by the main car park, where the trust's planting first commenced in 2016 and 2017
For directions to the Richards Beach planting site, head south out of Cromwell on Barry Avenue. Turn left into Richards Beach Road when Barry Avenue becomes Bannockburn Road on the outskirts of town. Pass by the Otago Polytech campus, then turn right onto the unsealed section of the road and skirt around the treatment ponds down to the Richards Beach car park where you will see the Mokihi signs. The planting area is right by the car park.
All welcome. The weather forecast for Saturday is looking like a lovely, albeit cool-ish, Spring morning, with probably a light breeze. That said, the southern end of Richards Beach is perhaps the most sheltered part of all the Mokiihi sites. irrespective, please dress appropriately for a planting session. Feel free to bring your favourite gardening gloves, trowel or spade. Although no problem if you don't as we have a wide range of tools available, including for children.
