Kia Ora Whānau,

This week, winter made its mark with a thrilling snowfall! On Monday, we had a blast playing in the snow and capturing the experience in our writing. Be sure to check out the wonderful mahi from some of our budding writers—notice their fantastic letter formation, neat handwriting, spot-on spelling, and perfect use of full stops and capital letters.

We also started writing our speeches, which are all about how we use our school values / Piko’s Tips during our school day. These speeches will come home soon for practice, so your child can work on reading aloud with fluency, expression, and confidence. They'll be presenting them in Week 8—more details to come!

Last week we had the Fire Wise team at school complete with the Cust Fire engine. We hope you have spent a little time devising an escape plan and a safe meeting point for your whanau.
