Kia ora koutou. I hope you had a nice week and that things are going well for you and your whānau.

Earlier this week we did Firewise with Rooms 5, 4, 3 and 2. This was a valuable learning experience for all as important messages were shared and learnt. It is important that we all know what to do for different types of emergencies and it could be a useful conversation at home to have. In case of an emergency here at school, our evacuation point is the FIELD on the other side of the courts. Evacuations can happen at any point (including at the end of doing a musical like last term) which is why I am reminding/informing our community where to meet if necessary.

Aladdin digital - Thank you to those parents that have bought a digital copy of our musical. We are in the process of taking orders. Please consider buying a copy. This is not to make money but to cover our costs for a videographer and to give you the opportunity to re-live the experience. Our kids did an amazing job with the musical and it would be great to be able to treasure the experience in years to come. If you would like to buy a copy, please email Fiona at admin@cust.school.nz. Lost property - there are a lot of jerseys and other bits and pieces at our lost property box. In case your child is missing something - our lost property box is the red box by the staffroom.

Room 6 - Today in Room 6 we had a visit from Siobhān (Youth Engagement, Education and Enviroschool Advisor from Environment Canterbury) and Dan (Lead Biodiversity - Waimak Irrigation Ltd) who will be working with the class as a continuation of some Enviro projects the seniors did last year. The school won an award last year for the work they did and will be looking to use the funds gained from the award to create a shade house and to grow native trees to plant in different water races.

EPRO8 - Next week both our EPRO8 teams will be going to the FINALS. This is a great achievement for both teams. We cheer both teams on as they represent Cust. We will be communicating the results to you next week.

I hope you all have a nice weekend. For many parents there will be no Saturday morning rugby which means we get our Saturdays back :). Hooray!
