Cust School Newsletter | Term 3, Week 2

Principal's kōrero

Kia ora whānau. I hope that you are all keeping well and managed to escape the bad weather and the winter bugs. I think we are all looking forward to the nice weather over the weekend. It's been a great start to the term with all our tamariki settling back into their routines.

Three Way Conferences: Thank you to all those parents who came to the Three Way Conferences. I trust that the conversation with your child's teacher was beneficial and helpful. We will provide you with a progress report at the end of the term to give you an update on how your child is achieving. Due to Mrs McLeod being away, we will let the Room 3 whānau know as soon as possible with dates and times for when your Three Way Conferences will be on.

Mihi: This week we also took some time to welcome our new families at our mihi. Nau mai haere mai to all our new tamarki and their whānau.

Kapa Haka: Next week we will start preparing our performance group for the Kapa Haka Festival that is happening on the 19th September. Matua Norm and Bonnie will be working with our tamariki to prepare them for this.

Winter sport tournament, Cantamath and EPRO8 Seminals: Next week is a busy week for many of our students. On Tuesday many of our Yr 5-8 students will take part in the one day winter sports tournament. Mr Burke has provided the necessary information about this to those families. Thank you to all those parents who have said that they are able to support us with this. On Wednesday some of our senior students will participate in the local Cantamath competition and on Thursday both our EPRO8 teams will participate in the Semifinals. I am confident that all of the different groups of students will make us proud and will do well. Stay tuned for updates on their performances in next week's newsletter. Let's cheer them on and wish them the best of luck!

Mana Ake: You will see that there is an article this week that is advertising a parent course (Tuning into kids) facilitated through Mana Ake. The article has a flyer with more information on it. It is done online and would be well worth considering. Please feel free to reach out to them if you have further questions.

PTA meeting: A reminder that next Tuesday there will be a PTA meeting at 7.30 in the staffroom. Thank you for all your dedication and commitment PTA. You are doing a great job!

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we can make Term 3 a successful and memorable experience for all our students. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements in the weeks ahead.

Warm regards

Gerhard
