My teaching philosophy

My pedagogy is wrapped around inclusivity and creating a supportive environment where children learn, knowing it’s ok to make mistakes and that mistakes are an important part of their learning.

Experience/qualifications

I qualified as a Teaching and Learning Assistant in 2009 and worked in two different Primary Schools in the UK for six years, before joining DPS in 2016.

Special educational interests

• Literacy, especially reading through phonics

• Child behaviour and welfare

About me

I settled in Devonport in 2015, after arriving from Weston-super-Mare, England. New Zealand is where I now call home and I have permanent residency status.
