150th Anniversary
Preparations for our 150th anniversary are still underway and more details will follow in the new term. Our anniversary weekend is scheduled for November. However, right now it is important to give you a "heads-up" about the Term 3 "Victorian Day" and we also have a request to make.
The Victorian Day will take place on Thursday 20th August. We would like everyone to dress in Victorian costume on that day, so we are giving you plenty of notice to find or make items of clothing. We expect to take lots of photographs on that day, including some for the Devonport Primary coffee-table book that is currently being written.
In terms of the book, we are seeking memories, anecdotes and photographs of DPS from our past pupils. Please alert those you know who came to the school to this request. Contributions and suggestions for the book can be sent into the school and will be passed on to those who are collating the book. There has never been a book about DPS and so this is a very exciting venture for us all. I will be working with current children to develop the chapter on 2020 and beyond. This will be a great opportunity for some of the children to become published authors at a young age!
