Kapa Haka

Beverley Booth —

Well done to the Kapa Haka group for a wonderful performance on Saturday night at the Bayswater Matariki Festival. Despite the torrential rain our children sang beautifully. Thank you to Whaea Ally, Anthony Helmhout for your work with the group, and to all the parents who braved the cold and wet to support the children. Whaea Ally also wished me to pass on her message, below.

Tēnā koutou I'd like to take this opportunity to really acknowledge the parents and whānau of our kapa haka rõpū who braved the rain and brought your tamariki to the Bayswater matariki trail on Saturday. The weather was much more extreme than any of us expected and I wanted to thank you so much for your extra effort and aroha in bringing your tamariki along. We were so proud of their performance when we made it into the semi-dry. To the tamariki, you performed with great strength and resilience, despite being so wet! Your amazing performance is a testament to your commitment to this group and your school. Ka nui te mihi ki a koutou katoa. Whaea Ally
