The 2018 Peninsula Swimming Event, held on the 20th of March, was a great success.

Following four days of lunch time trials, a delegation of 30 8-, 9- and 10-year-old students went off by bus to compete against 6 other Peninsula Primary schools at the Takapuna Aquatic Pools. In genuine DPS spirit the enthusiastic bunch showed good sportsmanship and manners. We can also be very proud of the results; we had 9 students in the finals, of which some swam more than one event!

Special merits go out to;

Oliver Brosnahan (8yrs) who came 1st in backstroke in his age group.

Oliver Yeung (10 yrs) who came 1st in breast stroke in his age group, 2nd in 66m open, and 2nd in freestyle in his age group.

Teagan Lang (10 yrs) who came 3rd in back stroke in her age group

Lily Nedelec - Spake (9 yrs) who came 1st in breast stroke in her age group

The following children made sure that the other finalists did not get an easy win;

In freestyle; George Spooner, William McGibbon

In backstroke; Danny Glass

In breaststroke; Max Cameron, Claudia Pearce

We did not take home the honour of winning the School Relay races this year...but there is always next year!

I am looking forward to it already!
