Historical Plaques for our school site
As part of our 150th activities, the Devonport Museum has helped to research our history. We plan to place a number of plaques on our site to show where key parts of the school were located. These plaques would be similar to the plaque at the bottom of the stone steps. Please let us know if you would be interested in sponsoring one of the new plaques.
Places of interest on our site that are to considered for the plaques;
- Air raid shelters.
- School Steps.
- A photo of the school buildings taken about 1910 (from the mountain looking south east).
- A photo of the first teachers.
- Manual Training Block.
- Chapel used for the school originally.
We are awaiting confirmation of costs but expect that small plaques will cost in the region of $150 and larger plaques $300. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss this further.
