Special assemblies next week

Beverley Booth —

We have three special assemblies next week: Year 6 Prizegiving, Whole school Merit Assembly, and Sports Assembly. Please read on for details of times, contents and arrangements.

Year 6 Prizegiving - 6pm Monday 11th December

  • All Y6 students are expected to attend (please let your child's teacher know if they cannot be there).
  • Students usually dress smartly for this event
  • Cups and certificates will be awarded and our Y6 students will sing their leaving song.
  • If your child receives a cup we ask that they bring it into school on Tuesday so that it can be re-presented in front of the whole school. We introduced this last year as we realised that in previous years the younger children did not get to see our trophies.
  • Linda will contact cup winners at the beginning of term 3 to ask that they be returned. This is so that we can display the cups in school for all to see.

Merit Assembly   9.15 am - 10.15 am  Tuesday 12th December

  • The assembly is led by our student councillors.
  • Parents are welcome to attend.  Your child's class teacher will inform you if your child is to receive a Principal's Award.
  • The following will be presented:
    • Cups from Prizegiving (presented again),
    • Principal's Awards
    • ICAS Distinction and High Distinction
  • The new House Captains will be announced and presented with their badges.

10.15 - 11.00

Following the Merit Assembly there will be  a morning tea break for the children. Parents are welcome to have a cup of tea in the hall during this break between assemblies.

Sport Assembly 11.00 am Tuesday 12th December

  • The assembly is led by our House Captains
  • Parents are welcome to attend
  • The sports cups from prizegiving will be re-presented
  • Most Valued and Most Improved Player Awards will be presented for the sports teams.
