Concerns and complaints
Our school values fairness and transparency, and we want you to feel comfortable discussing any concerns you may have.
General concerns
It's important to let us know straight away so we can sort things out as early as possible.
In most cases, an informal chat with your child's teacher is the best starting point. We can also include their team leader if that would be helpful.
If you do approach the principal or the board in the first instance, they may refer you back to your child's teacher unless your concern is very serious.
If your concern is very serious, or if you cannot resolve matters with your child's teacher, you can follow the formal complaint procedure (see attachment at the bottom of this page for details).
Concerns about your child's learning or experiences at school
From time to time, students can experience difficulties at school. We are here to help.
Our shared goal is for students to love coming to school so if your child is unhappy or you feel they are falling behind, we want to partner with you to sort things out.
Your first port of call is usually your child's teacher. All our teachers have an open-door policy and are experienced in resolving many kinds of situations.
You can either drop in after school for a quick chat or arrange a formal meeting if you think you need more time.
Depending on the issue, we tend to recommend having patience with your teacher's approach. It can take time to see progress and heavy-handed intervention may not be the best way to handle things.
Having said that, if you would like to escalate your issue, our deputy principal Lesley Brewer or our principal Dr Beverley Booth would be happy to sit down with you to discuss what's been happening and consider the options.
