Author and illustrator Gavin Bishop came to visit our class today to share his new book, Atua.

This was especially exciting for us as we have been learning about and retelling the same story - the Maori creation myth.

He spoke about the lengthy process he goes through to produce his books and shared with us the planning and process he went though to create his latest book.

All of our students sat enthralled as he retold the story and shared his amazing original artworks that will make up the published book.

Thank you very much to Micki for organising this visit.  This has provided a huge amount of inspiration for many of our students in their own writing and art.
