Kotare Assembly

Kotare Class —

Last Friday, was Kotare’s assembly. We have been working hard to complete a Rose window of our class slogan: Our classroom is a happy, brilliant learning place, where we are proud of our achievements, helpful, organised and motivated learners, who are having fun, smiling all day, and are keen to try new things with our class.

We painted them using a fine paint brush. Because we took our time and did our very best, they look really good. They are mounted on black paper and displayed on our back wall. Come and have a look. Mrs Haines is very impressed and each one looks different.

We explained the importance of Kaitiakitanga: caring for our environment.

What’s in the compost bucket today to feed the chickens and worms.

“What about this, plastic wrap!”
“I thought we are an enviro school, we are not supposed to have wrappers unless they are reusable or can be composted” “So plastic is a no no!”
“Correct, leave your wrappers at home, use food that don’t need wrappers, and use reusable containers.”
“The chickens will love us when they see: orange peel, cores from fruit, bits of vegetables, cooked or raw, your left over noodles and rice, the bread from sandwiches, no meat, please,
“Newsflash, newsflash, an important announcement. Listen carefully, or you may be left in the dark!”
“Green Diamonds, are you ready to shed the news?” Earth Hour! 19th March at 8.30pm
