On Thursday 16 March Diamond Harbour School held a Pōwhiri to welcome Jill Pears and all the new students who have started at our school in 2017.

The welcome began with a haka performed by the kapa haka group. This was followed by a few words from Denissa Hora, Hamish Laird and Jill Pears. Mrs Rice welcomed our new students. The Pōwhiri finished with some whole school waiata, and the sharing of some kai. The students enjoyed an ice-block with their morning tea.

We are very excited to have Jill Pears as our new Principal, and to welcome a large number of new children. 2017 is off to a great start.
