Support peace for Ukraine

Jill Pears —

Blue and yellow day - Friday 18th of March

We are holding a dress in blue and yellow day, on Friday the18th of March to show support for the Ukraine and to raise awareness that not all countries live in peace. Please note that any class discussions of this topic will be conducted in an age appropriate way.

As we, here in Diamond Habour, are enjoying warm autumn days there has been a lot of distressing information coming out of the Ukraine. As you read this, it’s a very cold spring time in Ukraine. There are thousands of people standing up for their country to protect it’s independence, and thousands that have needed to flee their homes to seek shelter.

Neighbouring countries are reaching out in support of the Ukraine. People & global charities are working to help as many children, families and people as possible. We, on the other side of the world, are just as able to help.

We would like students to dress in yellow and blue, the colours of the Ukrainian flag, to show we care and to raise money to support the children of the Ukraine. We ask that you please bring a gold coin (or more if you wish) to school on the day. All donations will be made to Unicef - Ukraine. If you would like to make your own family donation, please click here.
