Jill Pears —

Tena koutou nga whanau, nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa,

Thank you to everyone for a wonderful 2018. On Tuesday night we celebrated the success of our students at Prizegiving. It was lovely to see so many of our community there.

Tonight we farewell our wonderful group of year 8 students at the year 8 dinner. Thank you to all the staff for the organisation that has gone into these events.

School reports would have been received last night. I hope you take the time to read these with your children. Teachers put a lot of time and effort into crafting these documents. Don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

Thank you to the helpers who came along for the working bee in the garden last weekend. Some more tidying will happen over the holidays. If you are going past feel free to water the garden, or enjoy produce that needs eaten. Thank you also to Alex (with her wonderful helper Rowan) who ran the sausage sizzle at On The Spot on Saturday. This fundraising helps us to cover the costs of keeping the pool open the summer for our community.

We open 2019 with 3-way conferences on Thursday, 31 January. It is important all parents and children attend - this gives a valuable opportunity to discuss your hopes for the year ahead. Have a wonderful summer break, spend time with family and friends, enjoy everything our environment has to offer and stay safe. We look forward to seeing students and parents on Thursday, 31 January for their conferences and the full school commences on Friday, 1 February.

Ngā mihi nui

Jill
