Police Physical Competency Test

Jill Pears —

Last week, four of our students took on the challenge of the Police PCT.

PCT is the fitness test that Police Officers have to complete every two years. The Blue Light Charity runs the competition in conjunction with the police. There were a number of activities during the day and then the students had to complete the actual challenge. The challenge consisted of pushing wheelie bins around markers, sprinting around the hall, running across a beam, over and under hurdles, over high fences, jumping through 'windows', over walls, dragging a heavy weight (that represented a body) and running through obstacles.

Our team of Scarlet, Chloe, Kobe and Zavier also got to complete a number of other fun activities and team building events. These included getting to try on police uniforms and sit in a police car and try out all the different sirens.

Out of 78 teams from around Canterbury, our team achieved the 25th fastest time, with all members completing the course in under 3 minutes.
