Hanmer Springs Camp

Fiona Rice —

Our year 7s and 8s recently enjoyed 4 days at Hanmer Springs Forest Camp.

Activities included bush survival, mountain biking, rock climbing, tree climbing, orienteering and pitch and putt, as well as a couple of trips to the hotpools for fun on the hydroslides. We had a very wet first day, but the sun came out and the camp was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Here's what our some of our students had to say about it:

Sleep on camp never!

Recently the year 7/8s went on camp. Not likely that we had much sleep especially the year 7 girls because they ended up all sleeping together, unlike the others that were in cabins of 2. Here is how they found it.

Alex Cameron says” I liked that we got to do a variety of activities and my favorite thing was the pitch and putt. The thing that I didn't like was the variety of food.

Ike says “I liked the fact that there were two to a cabin and I disliked the small amount of time that we had to do things.”

Zoe says “ I like how we went to the hot pools and did the mountain biking. The only thing that I didn't like was getting lost on my walk.”

Ruby says “I liked the hot pools and the slides and I disliked we could not use the room that I was supposed to be in.:

Looks like the hot pools were popular I interviewed lots of people that said that the hot pools were their favourite activity too. It was a great camp and we all had lots of fun and went home so very tired (and we had to get up early the next morning too).
