Apple Computers - literally!

Sally Craw —

At Code Club we have been developing a simple maze game that we are controlling with a literal apple controller.

Last week we learned how to code our sprites to move when we pressed the arrow keys.  This week we have made our game way more fun by using a Makey Makey to create non-traditional controllers.

As we had a surplus of apples in the room, many students chose to use apples to make circuits to control their game.  Other groups used tinfoil, mandarins and the graphite from pencils.

We learned about why we need to use an earth wire to create a circuit and about different objects (including us) that conducted electricity.

Code Club is a Wednesday after school activity that is open to anyone who is interested.
