Swimming Sports 2022

Diamond Harbour School Media Leaders —

On Wednesday the 2nd March, Swimming sports was held at The Governors Bay Community Pool.

The Year 7-8s were bussed there first, just after they got to school. It was a drizzly cold morning, so it was a good thing we had a collection of blankets! Each year group raced in heats, then the fastest times raced in the finals. The weather cleared, just as the seniors caught the bus back to school! The races worked the same way for the 5-6s, except they had lovely sunny weather! There was incredible swimming from both the seniors and middle school! It was really nice hearing all the positive encouragement from the swimmers and their peers.

‘You can do it’ or ‘I might not win, but I’m going to try my hardest!’

Once all the races had been timed and finished, we packed up all the flutter boards, blankets, buckets and bags, then headed back to school.

This event couldn’t have happened without Lizzy, Nancy, Ms Pears, and all the amazing parent help we had!

Ka pai to all swimmers! You all did so well!!
