ANZAC Day

Tracey Janes —

This week in our reading and topic work we have been learning about the ANZACs. Here is some of our artwork - poppies to remind us of the soldiers whose blood was lost and the mud to remind us of their suffering in the trenches. Some people wrote poems too. Here is Ngaio's poem:

The Red Poppies

The red poppies grow,

On the blood covered ground,

Making us remember all the people who died.

The red poppies grow on the dead grass.

As we cast our eyes upon the poppy fields we remember

WAR.
