A cold start, but we were soon warmed up with trying to nab our classmate's rips.

The sun was shining and we were outside today to learn to play Rippa Rugby. There was an excitement in the air, as Kotare children realised this is what activity they were doing today. 

Last session was inside learning the basics of gymnastics. 

After the warm up activity, the children were put into groups to further practise taking a rip off another member of their foursome, without loosing their own. The final activity was a whole class one where the children had to run through the tunnel of classmates swivelling their hips to avoid their rip being taken. Only a few succeeded. 

The children showed their Youth Town values of teamwork, Manaakitanga, and do your best.
