Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) becoming more prevalent in businesses
BYOD is when a staff member brings a device of their choice into the workplace rather than the business providing a device for them.
BYOD can bring many benefits. It allows staff the freedom to choose a device they want to use in the workplace, it can improve digital skills as staff are more familiar with the device they are using and for the employer it can reduce the costs of paying for up-front hardware and on-going maintenance.
It's also seen as an attractive perk which may make your company stand out. After all, a business wants to attract the best people possible, does it really matter that they want to access company information on a device of their choice?
But before jumping in, have a read through this article on our free Knowledge Base. It looks at what you need to consider before implementing a BYOD policy in your workplace. It also has a BYOD Policy template which you can edit to make it your own (it's in Word format).
With 22% of businesses (out of 5,000) who have completed the digital journey assessment now offering a BYOD scheme it is worthwhile considering the benefits it can bring to your business.
