A reminder...

Pihopa Richard Rangi Wallace QSM was elected at the Electoral College of 23–25 September 2016 to be the second Pīhopa o (Bishop of) Te Pīhopatanga o Te Waipounamu. He was consecrated on 21 January 2017 and installed that month.

In the 2009 New Year Honours, he was awarded the Queen's Service Medal, for services to Māori.

Continue to remember Richard, his wife Archdeacon Mere Wallace and family during this time. Pray for them and the Hui Amorangi as they mourn the passing of a loved father and respected leader within Tikanga Maori and the wider Anglican Church. I am travelling up to Christchurch to attend the service of thanksgiving at the Transitional Cathedral.

I am especially sad to lose a valued colleague and friend. Rest in peace Richard and rise in life eternal.

Mā te Atua koe e manaaki
e tiaki i nga wā katoa
e noho i roto i te aroha o te Atua:
ko te aroha hoki te mea nui.
ki te ingoa o te Matua, o te Tama,
o te Wairua Tapu, Āmine.
