I am delighted to announce two recent appointments.....

Reverend John Graveston, our Diocesan Child Youth and Families Educator is being seconded for a fixed term of three months, to St Peter's Caversham, as Interim Assistant Parish Priest, to assist during their interregnum. John will also continue with some of his Diocesan projects over this time (especially Boundaries Workshops, Safeguarding policies and Young Adults group).

John will be at St Peter's from 17 August, returning to his Diocesan role on 14 November 2021, and is contactable as usual through his cell and email .

I have appointed Reverend Dr Anne Van Gend, our Diocesan Community Ministry Enabler,  Archdeacon of Rural Ministry. This honorary role affirms the work Anne is already doing in her Community Ministry Role. It also allows her to fully participate in Synod (speaking and voting rights), while adding to our team of Archdeacons. It is slightly different to the other Archdeaconries as there are no geographical borders, rather, it reflects the importance of our rural areas and the need to support our rural faith communities in a different way.

Reverend Richard Johnson continues as the Dean of Rural Ministry in Southland, and he and Anne work closely together.

Anne also remains in her Deputy Vicar-General role.
