Youth Leader Training Day (YLTD) is a gathering of youth leaders from local churches. Whether they are paid professionals or volunteer warriors, YLTD hopes to encourage & equip them for the ministries that they do. We do this by creating a space where youth leaders can connect with other youth leaders and learn more about youth ministry from experienced practitioners.

YLTD is an ecumenical event. Youth leaders from any and every church are invited.

We believe we can do youth ministry better when we do it together.

Southland and Otago Youth leaders training day is now receiving Regos, follow the Register Here link to our website.

List of Workshop:

Lorna Gray
NATIONAL YOUTH FACILITATOR - ANGLICAN CHURCH
Worskshop 1: Community Facing: How’s it going building bridges? There is no such thing as us and them. The community and the church both need God.

Workshop 2: Bi-Cultural Journey: He ora te kotahitanga. There is strength in unity. The bi-cultural journey of Aotearoa means what? Why? How? Where do we start?

Gordon Fitch
NATIONAL MANAGER, PRESBYTERIAN YOUTH MINISTRIES
Partnering With Parents: Research has shown that the strongest predictor of life-long vibrant faith in young people is faithful parents who take the time to deliberately disciple their children. Wait a second, what about youth group, church, relational youth ministry, are we just wasting our time? This workshop explores practically partnering with parents to succeed in youth ministry.
Malcolm Gordon
MINISTER, MUSICIAN & PHD STUDENT
Telling God the Ugly Truth: Young people, youth ministry and lament. Lament is a necessary and important part of our faith, but is often a missing piece in our ministries and our teen’s faith journey. Let’s change that.
Brad Kelderman
YOUTH MINISTRY ADVISOR, SOUTHERN PRESBYTERIANS
The Key Ingredients: There are two crucial ingredients needed for good youth ministry. Don’t fall into the trap of leaving these two ingredients out of the feast that is youth ministry.
Lizzie Moore
YOUTH MINISTRY CONSULTANT, SCRIPTURE UNION
Small Groups 101: Small groups…possibly one of the most fruit-bearing aspects of any youth ministry ever. Let's talk small groups…the what, the why, and the how.
