Diocese of Dunedin

Vacancy – Parish of Whakatipu

Fulltime Vicar

The Parish of Whakatipu – in the Queenstown area of the South Island and in the Diocese of Dunedin – is seeking a full time Vicar.

Based in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand, the area attracts a lot of visitors – and is also home to a vibrant, welcoming and involved residential community.  We see our next Vicar as someone who will both work with us and lead us into the future with God.  The Parish is looking for the right person to grow the church, and engage with the local community.

We wish to develop our existing ministry and face the challenges of moving us forward and inspiring us in this modern world.

We have committed ourselves to praying together for the right person to grow our Parish and deliver thoughtful and creative worship.

Within the Diocese, we seek to appoint people who both practise and model prayer and reading of the Bible as they live out the risen life of Jesus Christ.

The Parish profile is available on request to

Waiapu Diocese

Taradale Anglican Church is seeking to appoint a full time Associate/Assistant Priest to support and encourage the growing ministry and mission of our community.

As a church we have a desire to hand on the blessing of the faith and our churches to another generation and so we have a particular focus on reaching those who are not in our midst. If you have a heart for the missing generations, a love for Jesus and his church, can live in the tension of new and ancient forms of worship and church and have a kingdom vision then we would love to talk with you!

The role is very open to those who feel called to apply. If your passion lies in teaching and preaching, there is a space for you. If you are a pastor at heart and love to meet with and encourage the church, we would love to talk with you. If you feel God calling you to plant a church or lead others in doing that, we would love to resource and encourage you in that work.

While the preference in this appointment is for a Priest ordained within the Anglican Communion, we are open to applications from those not ordained that have served in paid roles as a Pastor in other traditions and undertaken theological education.

For more information about the church and the role, please contact Alan Burnett, alan@taradaleanglican.church
