Parata Rest Home Going Strong

Andrew Metcalfe —

Our Diocesan organisations are adjusting to the huge changes that have taken place over the last week or so.

Mary Pullar, the Administrator at Parata writes:

Parata is in good shape – the Trustees met on Sunday 22 March and appointed a COVID-19 Co-ordinator on Monday morning. Debra Warburton (a former Navy Medic and Care Worker at Parata) is taking on this role. Debra previously ran a Homecare Organisation in Central Otago servicing 400+ clients and managing 50 care workers.
Debra will manage the COVID-19 response while Shirley Turnbull will look after the Resthome

Parata has separated it’s four business groups Resthome, Meals, Flats and Day Centre (which is now providing a distance service with delivered meals) – there will be no overlap and strict protocols have been implemented in the kitchen to protect the community meals service. An off-site kitchen is fully set-up if at any stage it is deemed Meals for community need to be prepared off-site.

Please keep our Diocesan Organisations in your prayers and keep an eye out for opportunities you may be able to offer them support.
