So, you have been elected onto Vestry... and it suddenly dawns, what should I be doing? We have been working on a resource for new and existing Vestry members, or for anyone in a leadership/governance position in the Diocese.

This guide has been developed by Diocesan Ministry Educator, the Ven Michael Godfrey along with Trish Franklin (Diocesan Council member) and Andrew Metcalfe (Registrar).

It covers topics such as: Prayer (underpinning all we do), Vestries and Wardens (Roles and Responsibilities), Some Technical Stuff on Vestries. It includes an easy guide to what canons, statutes and so on are all about, as well as Synod and Diocesan Council.

Feel free to print out copies for your vestry or governance group and use as part of your orientation processes. If you would like a training session for your leadership group based on this, let us know. If there is interest, we will look at providing a session for your group, or offer a larger training event that more can participate in.
